Career Mama Newsletter - August 2026
Hi Career Mamas,
In August, we practiced recognizing the value we bring and making our work more visible.
In September, we're focusing on what happens when it's time to advocate for yourself, whether that's staying confident in a high-pressure moment or asking for what you need to move forward. We'll dig into both through our Presence Under Pressure workshop and September Slack challenge.
🎥 August Coaching Call recording
Missed the call or want to revisit some of the conversations? The recording is now available in the Career Mama platform in Kajabi.
Members brought great career and work questions to the call, with plenty of practical takeaways you can apply to your own work situations.

Up next: September events and our Slack challenge.
🗣️ Events
- Presence Under Pressure Workshop: 9/2, 11:30am-12:30pm PT
- Circle (Connect + Support): 9/17, 12-1pm PT
💬 Monthly Slack roundup
- Job search - feedback on skills and fit: Sabrina S. shared the free Never Search Alone council and asked for volunteers to join a brief Listening Tour conversation to give feedback on her skills and candidate market fit.

🎯 September Challenge: Get What You Need To Move Forward
We're making September practical: one conversation each week to help you get clearer on what's expected, free up your time, and make your goals known.
📆 Week 1 Challenge (September 7th week): Get Your Manager to Define the Bar
📆 Week 2 Challenge (September 14th week): Unblock One Decision
📆 Week 3 Challenge (September 21st week): Hand Off One Responsibility
📆 Week 4 Challenge (September 28th week): Tell One Decision-Maker What You Want Next
Look out for MJ's Slack on September 7th to kick off our challenge.
✍️ Circle: Connect + Support
Same flexible format as last month, no prep needed.
Choose the breakout that feels good in that moment:
- Work challenge: Bring something you’re navigating
- Mom life: Talk through what’s coming up at home
- Coffee chat (just connect!): Low-key conversation, no agenda
Come as you are.

As we head into September, we hope Career Mama continues to be a place where you can show up as you are, share what's really going on, and find support from moms who get it.
Looking forward to another month together.
Cheers,
Shivani & team
